The purpose of this site isn’t to show you how to get rich quick. It’s not to show you how to grow your business, your side hustle, become Instagram famous. It’s to show you proven ways to build wealth over time by becoming financially literate. According to Dave Ramsey, one of the foremost experts on personal finance in America, estimates that about 20% of people are financially literate. Think about that. Out of 330 million Americans, only about 66 million by the estimate would be financial literate.
What is the reason for this? Simple, they teach you useless bullshit in school that’s not going to help you in real life. How many times have you had to calculate the hypotenuse of a triangle. What use has remembering who the 18th president is, or the state capital of Maine? It’s unfortunate, but grade schools in the United States have failed miserably and preparing young adults for the harsh realities of the real world.
Why do you think college students get bombarded with credit card offers as soon as they arrive on campus? It’s because credit card companies know that the average student knows next to nothing about the fee structures of a credit card. They advertise the “minimum payment” of your bill, leaving their astronomical interest rates in the fine print, thereby creating a customer for life.
Its predatory practices such as this, along with a general lack of knowledge through no real fault of their own, that leaves a lot of people in the hurt locker. My mission is to combat this with educational content that is easily applied to real life.
